Interest in this ecumenical institution grew, and churches, missionary societies and other organisations from various regions of India and from abroad joined with the founders in support of the College. In 1951 the Church Missionary Society and the society for the Propagation of the Gospel became supporting bodies.
The world is on the threshold of a new era. The institution is engaged in the issues of our time and has positioned itself with a diverse faculty including: practicing architects, engineers, artists, researchers, and theoreticians. All faculty teach both in the Design Studios and in an area of specialization; they are deeply committed to the challenges of teaching 21st Century architects; issues of ecology and sustainability, and experience and concept, are all knit into the work and pedagogy of our institution.The faculty have maintained the institution’s long tradition of engaging in the authentic nature of place, region, culture, and habitation.
The College also houses extension centre that provide unique opportunities for the undergraduate students to participate in various training programmes. Above all, we understand design to be a deeply considered creative endeavor. The institution emphasizes the delight of architecture and the search for the inexpressible flash that enlivens the things we make.

Prof. S. Suman Rekha
Principal
A 1996 Graduate from JNTU with a Masters in Interior Design, she began her teaching career in Church of South India Institute of Technology, School of Architecture and Planning in 2003. And since then she has served in various roles i.e. 6 years as Examination Incharge, 11 Years as Head of Architecture Department and multiple parallel roles as Head of various committees. She has been heading CSIIT as its Principal from 2020. Prof. S. Suman Rekha is an Associate member of professional bodies like IIA (Indian Institute of Architects) and IIID (Institute of Indian Interior Designers). Nominated by the Government of Telangana as Executive Council Member of JNAFAU (Jawaharlal Nehru Architecture and Fine Arts University), She has worked closely with JNAFAU and served in the capacity that required frequent collaboration amongst departments and teams related to administration, course structure, question papers setting & evaluation. Prof. Suman was appointed by the Council of Architecture (COA) as member and convener of COA inspection committee. She has conducted various workshops, seminars and conferences at CSIIT and has been an external juror to premium Architecture colleges. Respected as a teacher who is clear and consistent in approach, she has been associated with facilitating design studios and thesis projects for both undergraduate and postgraduate students that enabled them to produce their maximum potential. Students under her guidance have bagged university gold medals, prestigious awards at both national and international level. She has been able to reach out to students who normally prefer to be on the margins, to become part of the mainstream group, recognizing their strengths & facilitating a positive direction.
